John Kricfalusi
John Kricfalusi has taken animated cartoons seriously all his life. Throughout elementary school he drew Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros. characters and wrote stories about them. He attended Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, but really learned about animation by studying Warner Bros. cartoons, particularly the films of Bob Clampett. Kricfalusi created the hit cartoon series The Ren and Stimpy Show on Nickelodeon through his animation studio Spumco.
Creator of the famed (and some might say infamous) scatological cartoon show "Ren & Stimpy" on Nickelodeon. Because of Kricfalusi's love of grotesque and grosser than gross humor and material, there were fights between him and Nickeolodeon, which led to him being dismissed in 1993 and kept the show running. Co-star and voice of Stimpy Billy West wound up doing both voices.
Owner of the company: Spumco
Started putting his animation on the internet so he could have carte blanche and would be free to be as gross and as X-rated as he wanted.
Now that Ren & Stimpy have been revitalized for SPIKE-TV, he plans to do his orignial vision--and go over the line to be gross and disgusting. Things will be grosser and way out there, but Kricfalusi makes it clear that one thing will not change: "Ren is still an asshole and Stimpy is still a retard."
